UConn junior forward DeAndre Daniels has been no slouch during the NCAA Tournament – he’s scored in double figures every game, shot over 50% from the field and locked down the paint defensively for the Huskies. But it’s also true that it was UConn’s guards – Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright – who were getting all of the attention ahead of the Huskies’ Final Four matchup against No. 1 Florida.
After a dominating performance that included 20 points and 10 rebounds against the Gators, Daniels revealed details from a conversation he had with former UConn head coach Jim Calhoun this week. The best line? “Everybody’s going to be talking about me after Saturday.”
UConn will now await the winner of the other semifinal matchup – Kentucky vs. Wisconsin. It’s safe to say that the entire college basketball world will know all of the Huskies’ names – especially Daniels’ – by Monday night.
