David Onuorah, a 6-foot-9 graduate transfer from Cornell, is heading to play his final year at UConn, according to a report.
Onuorah broke the news on Instagram earlier this evening, posting that he is “happy, humbled, and hungry” to play out his final year at UConn and work towards a Master’s degree.
Onuorah was never a big scorer at Cornell, topping out at five points per game in 2015-16. That was also his best rebounding season, averaging 6.8 per game in 25.5 minutes for the Big Red. He was limited to one game in 2016-17, allowing him to preserve this final year of eligibility.
Onuorah joins three recruits joining UConn this season—John Carlton, Tyler Polley, and Isaiah Whaley—and Fordham graduate transfer Antwoine Anderson, and junior college transfer Eric Cobb.
