Boston College football suffered a big loss during last week’s season opener against Northern Illinois.
The Eagles outlasted the Huskies, pulling out a 23-20 win on the road.
However, starting center and team captain Jon Baker left the game with a knee injury. Today, it was revealed that it will cost him the rest of his 2017 season.
From ESPN‘s Adam Rittenberg:
Boston College starting center Jon Baker, a team captain, will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury sustained last week at Northern Illinois. Baker, who has made 29 starts, will redshirt the season and return in 2018.
While Steve Addazio’s team managed to go 7-6 last season, the team has struggled on offense for virtually his entire tenure, and would love to reach another bowl game this season to keep less enthused fans at bay. That goal definitely got harder with the loss of Baker.
Boston College trails Wake Forest at home this afternoon 7-0. The game is being broadcast on ACC Network affiliates.
