Clemson defensive tackle Grady Jarrett grew up just over an hour from Athens, so he is still disappointed that the home-state Bulldogs never went hard after him as a recruit. Jarrett expressed as much today, when he discussed Clemson’s week one opponent.
DT Grady Jarrett, on playing home-state UGA: “Them boys, they didn’t want me down there. And I ain’t never forgotten about it.”

According to Rivals, Jarrett’s only other offers were Buffalo, Mississippi State, and Western Kentucky, so its not too surprising that Georgia didn’t offer. Clemson found a serious diamond in the rough; Jarrett was an All-ACC Honorable Mention selection last season, and was named to the conference’s preseason first team ahead of this season.
