Today, Clemson University held a press conference to announce that an arrest has been made in the Howard’s Rock vandalism case. The investigation remains ongoing, but Micah Rogers, 18 years old, is the alleged vandal of the university relic. The worst part? He’s a Clemson fan himself, apparently.
As one might expect, Clemson fans were shocked, and left beyond disappointed:
A Clemson fan vandalized the most iconic piece of Clemson’s campus? Yeah, I’m burning my diploma.

Apologies to any SC fans. I’m in shock that it’s a “Clemson fan.” Though I don’t think this scum has any affiliation with my University

Ain’t no way in hell any Clemson fan will associate this guy with our fan base ever again. Absolutely classless.

Still can’t believe a Clemson fan actually did this. Micah Rogers I hope you get a nice ass whooping for vandalizing the rock.

The fact that a Clemson fan damaged Howard’s Rock really makes me angry.

He was just an idiot kid, made a mistake. I’ll pray for him and his family but he’s not a Clemson fan in my eyes

While I personally was sad to hear that it was indeed a Clemson fan that did it (allegedly) — and I’m no Clemson fan myself — many other fans, particular Gamecocks supporters (who had been blamed for the incident), piled on the Tigers supporters:

Did you hear? A Clemson fan was arrested for the vandalism of Howard’s Rock. They’re charging him with aggregated asphalt. #clembarrasing

It was a Clemson fan who vandalized their beloved rock. Even Clemson fans hate Clemson. #gococks

The kid who broke Howard’s Rock was a Clemson fan? Looks like it wasn’t “a dirty Gamecock fan” #priceless
