Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris has to be a proud coach after this weekend’s NFL Draft. On Thursday night, he saw the Buffalo Bills make a huge trade up to snag Tigers receiver Sammy Watkins, who will now be a featured piece in an offense already built around Clemson great C.J. Spiller. Clemson tackle Brandon Thomas went in the third round, and Watkins’ running mate Martavis Bryant was taken in the fourth round after his breakout season in 2013-14. On Saturday, Tajh Boyd finally came off the board, landing in a very intriguing quarterback room with the New York Jets.
After the draft concluded on Saturday, Morris took to Twitter, sending a message to new starting quarterback Cole Stoudt, reminding him that he could be in the same position as Boyd depending on how he performs this upcoming season.

Stoudt certainly has some big shoes to fill—Boyd holds multiple Clemson and ACC quarterback records. If anyone can produce another NFL talent the year after losing a guy like Boyd, Morris is a good bet, though.’
Stoudt was also quick to congratulate his former teammate on the selection.
