The Tigers had a special guest on the sidelines as they took on Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
Just a season removed from leading Clemson to a national title over the Crimson Tide, Deshaun Watson showed up to support his former team as the Tigers take on Alabama yet again in the College Football Playoff.
Last year, behind Watson’s 463 total yards and four total touchdowns, Clemson claimed its second national title in school history and the program’s first since 1981.
The program tweeted a quick clip of the NFL star sharing a laugh with his former coach, Dabo Swinney:
Look who showed up… 👀

Swinney seems pretty stoked to see his former star.
In early November, Watson, now with the Houston Texans, was sidelined for the season after tearing his ACL during practice. The injury derailed one of the most promising and electrifying rookie campaigns in the NFL. It looks like he found some time during his recovery to support his alma mater.
