The Tigers locked up their head coach.
Dabo Swinney is now the third-highest paid coach in college football.
After signing a new deal in April 2016, it looked like Clemson had its coach of the future locked up for good. Now, it surely does.
On Friday morning, it was announced Dabo signed a new 8-year deal worth an average of $6.75 million annually. The new deal puts him ahead of Urban Meyer and just behind Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh as the highest-paid coaches in college football.

In his nine seasons with the Tigers, Swinney has taken the team from mediocrity to a national power. After back-to-back trips to the national title, and one victory, Clemson has proved it can compete at the highest level with Dabo Swinney on the sideline.
