Both are preseason top 5 teams.
Duke and Kentucky have recruited at a level above other teams in college basketball the last several seasons. They have fully embraced the one-and-done culture and have had plenty of success with it.
This year, both teams will feature fantastic freshmen once again. Duke is the preseason No. 1 in the Coaches Poll, with Kentucky checking in at No. 4.
At least one NBA exec thinks there is a clear delineation between the teams. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported that he was told by this person that Duke is “10 points or so” better as of now.
One NBA executive that has seen both Kentucky and Duke told me that he felt like the Blue Devils were 10 or so points better as of today.

Just a guess, but this statement was probably made based off two factors: Duke landing Marvin Bagley, the clear-cut No. 1 player in the 2017 class and the fact the Blue Devils have more experience on their roster, most notably Grayson Allen.
Hopefully these two teams meet in the NCAA Tournament to settle the score.
