Love him or hate him, Dickie V has long been one of the biggest ambassadors for college basketball. And so last night, appropriately, he was inducted into the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame. To be honest, I’m not sure what took so long, considering Vitale just turned 74 yesterday, but nonetheless, it’s a great honor.
To celebrate, here are his calls of the two most famous buzzer-beaters (in the past few years) in college basketball; Christian Watford’s shot against Kentucky and Austin Rivers’ jumper against UNC. The funny thing? They’re identical.
