Kevin Sumlin’s Texas A&M Aggies notched an emotional, come-from-behind victory on New Year’s Eve against the Duke Blue Devils. But the head coach’s message to his team after the win was much more business-like than we’re used to seeing. Sumlin made it clear that what his seniors have established at Texas A&M will set the tone for the future. He also proclaimed that the program will “get better” and that he wants the program to be consistently “on the national stage.” Check it out:
The real challenge, of course, is how the team will respond after losing key players to its offense. We’ve already seen star wideout Mike Evans declare for the NFL draft, and we have a feeling that 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel isn’t far behind. If Sumlin is able to keep the program up after such huge departures, it’ll be a job well done.
