The matchup between FSU and UVA came down to the wire, with the two teams both hitting clutch 3s in the closing seconds.
No. 20 Florida State was able to squeak past No. 12 Virginia on Saturday, after an extraordinary performance from sophomore guard Dwayne Bacon, who recorded 29 points in the 60-58 win—with 26 of those points coming in the second half. It was a back and forth affair for most of the game, with FSU making a late 9-0 run to turn a 51-49 deficit into a 56-51 lead in the closing minutes of the second half.
With FSU up 57-55 and 20 seconds remaining in the game, UVA’s Kyle Guy took matters into his own hands with a clutch three-pointer to leave just eight seconds on the clock and put the Cavaliers up one. But Bacon answered with a clutch three of his own to seal it for the Seminoles, 60-58. Game over.
