The planting of the spear at midfield of Doak Campbell Stadium is one of Florida State’s great traditions. This weekend, the iconic Bobby Bowden, longtime face of the program, will get his opportunity to perform the honor. Bowden will be coming back on Saturday to plant the spear before the Seminoles take on North Carolina State.

This is not the first time that Bowden has planted the spear — he did it before coaching his last game in the Gator Bowl back in 2010. This is a nice tribute to someone who has meant so much to college football. You can definitely expect an electric atmosphere in Tallahassee on Saturday, and this in particular should delight the fans.
