ESPN personality Rick Reilly, whose Twitter game has never really been on-point, stirred up a bit of controversy yet again Friday night. For whatever reason, this time, his target was Florida State and its quarterback Jameis Winston, who has had a number of run-ins with the law over the past few years. Reilly, while making a joke related to betting lines, took shots at Winston for his involvement in a “bb gun battle” in 2012 and for his theft of crab legs from a Publix in 2014. Reilly also took a shot at the Tallahassee Police Department for the way it handled Winston’s rape case.
Lines are in for 2014 FSU schedule: OK State -7, @ Miami +1, Squirrels -10, Publix -4, Tallahassee Police (pic ’em)

It’s a bold move, considering the wrath of #FSUTwitter. It’s also odd, since Reilly was openly rooting for Florida State in this past year’s BCS title game. Perhaps he’s trying a bit too hard.
