Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston completed 25 passes Saturday night against Oklahoma State, but it was his final incompletion that put the nail in the coffin on the Cowboys. Facing a 4th-and-9 with six seconds to play and a 37-31 lead, head coach Jimbo Fisher called for the Heisman Trophy-winner to just chuck the ball high into the air out of the end zone. By the time the ball landed, the game was over.
Needless to say, it’s a play call you don’t see very often.
Florida State didn’t dominate the Cowboys like they did much of their regular season competition last year, but the Noles did enough to win. Winston is still undefeated as the starting quarterback at FSU.
