It’s not too uncommon that a high school football player chooses to play for his father’s alma mater, especially when he’s a football legacy there. However, not too many players double up the significance by committing on Father’s Day, which makes linebacker Tyler Cooksey’s decision to play at Georgia Tech even more special. Cooksey, a three-star recruit from Norcross, GA, chose the Yellow Jackets over 20 other schools including Tennessee, UNC, and Texas A&M. His father Tom played at Georgia Tech from 1976-1980.
I’m proud say I’ve verbally committed to Georgia Tech. I’m going to continue the Cooksey legacy. GO JACKETS!! pic.twitter.com/cmzZcqh0pE
