Louisville would have needed an undefeated record and a great deal of help to have a chance at reaching the BCS National Championship Game this season. The Cardinals’ loss to UCF earlier this season coupled with their perceived weak schedule has the team sitting at No. 20 in the BCS standings – a far cry from No. 2. But coach Charlie Strong, when asked, still doesn’t think there’s as much of a gap between No. 1 Alabama and his squad. Check out what he had to say today:
Strong: I think we could play with Alabama. I don’t know who would win that game, but I’m not going to say they’d just wear us out.

You can’t fault Strong for having faith in his guys, but we’re getting to the point where seemingly every week, some coach or player tries to downplay Alabama’s success.
Is Strong justified in his stance?
