Louisville officially became a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference today. The Cardinal’s athletic director, Tom Jurich, held a press conference this afternoon to discuss the move, the state of Louisville sports, how he hopes the ACC will benefit his school, how his school with benefit the ACC, etc.
Also, naturally, Jurich was asked about the rivalry with Kentucky, and how he feels about consistently being called the Wildcats’ “little brother.” His response is perfect.
#Louisville AD Tom Jurich: “Little brother is up to 6-5 and 295 and is running a 4.6.”

Tom Jurich: “We love being little brother”….at least he finally admitted it

So, where does the Kentucky-Louisville rivalry rank?
In football, not very high, but basketball is clearly the sport the two schools are most passionate about.
Louisville and Kentucky have produced some of college basketball’s greatest games in recent seasons. Duke-North Carolina is often labeled as the sport’s greatest rivalry, but does the Cardinals-Wildcats’ feud currently top Tobacco Road’s?
With John Calipari and Rick Pitino’s programs each winning national championships in recent seasons, the Bluegrass State might be home to college basketball’s best rivalry.
