The 2015 NCAA Tournament gets underway tomorrow night when the First Four tips off in Dayton, Ohio. Head coach Rick Pitino and his Louisville Cardinals are making their ninth consecutive tournament appearance. The No. 4 seed in the East region, Louisville (24-8) will take on the 13th-seeded University of California-Irvine Anteaters on Friday afternoon in Seattle.
This year’s Louisville outfit experienced multiple peaks and valleys during the season. On paper, it’s not the same quality team as last year’s Sweet 16 participant, and definitely not on the same plane as the 2013 National Championship squad. Still, the Cards have talent on the roster and an elite coach in Pitino. They are capable of making a deep run in the tournament.
