On Saturday, Miami (FL) lost a tight game against South Carolina in the Duck Commander Independence Bowl. But what the Hurricanes lost Sunday may actually be of more importance. Duke Johnson, who this year became the school’s all-time leading rusher, has decided to leave the program for the NFL. Johnson, a junior, announced his decision at a press conference the day after the contest.

Johnson’s decision does not come as a surprise to fans, especially considering Johnson’s own mother semi-broke the news Saturday. But he’ll certainly be a huge loss for a program that is still trying to resurrect itself.
