The Kevin Olsen era in Miami may not be getting off to the best start. According to Adam Kuperstein of WQAM, the redshirt freshman quarterback has been suspended for “at least” one game for a reported failed drug test. Olsen, who was projected to be the starting signal-caller by many after Ryan Williams tore his ACL in April, sat out the entire 2013 season to preserve eligibility. He was one of the top overall recruits in the country in 2013.
Miami Hurricanes QB Kevin Olsen will be suspended for at least 1 game this season for failed drug test. No comment from UM at this point.

Assuming Olsen will at least be suspended for the Hurricanes’ opener against Louisville, the transgression leaves the team with limited options. Jake Heaps, a graduate student transfer who played for both BYU and Kansas, will probably get the nod, as spring game backup Gray Crow recently switched positions. More as we learn it.
