There are a couple college basketball programs that feature summer pickup games that are more exciting to watch than the regular or postseason contests.
Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, North Carolina—programs that have a high amount of talent that’s moved on to the NBA. The professional players come back to campus during the offseason to work out with their college trainers and practice against the team’s current athletes. When pickup games occur, it’s something to watch; though, due to these games often taking place in a dimly lit arena with no crowd, rarely is anyone lucky enough to view the contest.
Thankfully, a North Carolina Instagram account has posted a video that features footage from a past pickup game at the Dean Dome.
That’s Marvin Williams, a current NBA player and former lottery pick, posterizing James Michael McAdoo, who’s now also in the league. We’re unaware of when the game took place, but it appears it happened sometime during McAdoo’s college career (2011-14).
