Jim Boeheim has accomplished a lot on the court, but his more lasting legacy may be as co-founder of the “Basket Ball Gala”, an annual event that he and his wife Juli host at Turning Stone Casino. As of last year’s gala, the event has raised more than $5 million for cancer research, as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Central New York.
The Syracuse basketball team comes to the gala every year, and this year’s roster has been spotted by Syracuse.com’s Donna Ditota. The Orange, who went 28-6 in its inaugural ACC season, are in full tuxedos for tonight’s event. Many iof the players, including projected NBA first rounder Tyler Ennis, are wearing orange bow-ties to the gala.

It’s good to see that the guys have recovered well from yesterday’s all-day Mayfest celebration at SU.
