A Syracuse cheerleader suffered a scary fall on Monday night.
Monday night, during Syracuse basketball’s exhibition game against Southern Connecticut State, one of the school’s cheerleaders suffered a scary fall in front of the student section after falling backwards during a lift. A report from syracuse.com on Wednesday morning notes that the student was taken to and released from the hospital since the incident.
Freshman Jessica Kommor was “treated and released” on Tuesday evening. Here’s more:
Jessica Kommor, a freshman, was being lifted into the air by a male cheerleader in the middle of the second half when she fell backwards, appearing to land on her upper back, neck or head. The fall occurred directly in front of the Syracuse student section, drawing gasps from those who witnessed it.
According to syracuse.com, there were gasps from the crowd after Kommor fell.

She's being tended to by medical people right behind us.

Obviously, it’s encouraging to hear that she hasn’t suffered a significant injury. Syracuse basketball’s season gets started this Friday against Cornell.
