We’ve got controversy in Cameron. Syracuse forward C.J. Fair hit what many believed was the game-tying layup with 10 seconds to play, seemingly setting up an incredible ending to a great basketball game. But before the shot, Fair was hit with an offensive foul, leading SU coach Jim Boeheim to go absolutely crazy on the referees. Boeheim got two technical fouls and was tossed from the game immediately.
Whether or not you disagree with the initial call, it was Boeheim’s tirade that put the game out of reach for the Orange. Syracuse still trailed by just two points at the time of his double-technical, so the Orange still would have had a chance to get a steal or foul and put Duke back on the line. You can bet that Boeheim’s actions will be heavily debated in the coming days.
