With camp coming up soon for college football programs, there are only a few weeks left to really get after it in the weight room for offseason lifting. Syracuse, which enters its second ACC season this fall, is certainly doing its job. The Orange released a new workout montage on YouTube today. The highlight has to come at the end, where star offensive tackle Sean Hickey, an All-ACC performer and NFL Draft first round hopeful, shows off his insane power on the bench.
We don’t know exactly how much weight he was putting up, but based on the bar, it looks like 525-pounds. Hickey has previously recorded 41 reps on the standard 225-pound press that is recorded at the NFL combine. That mark would have been good for second in this year’s combine; UNC center Russell Bodine, who was drafted in the fourth round by Cincinnati, put up 42 reps.
