For the last few seasons, Syracuse football has been making the trip up to Fort Drum, home to the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division, for the second week of fall camp to work on team building and leadership training, and to build the program’s connection with the local troops.
Syracuse athletics released a video showing some of the drills that the soldiers had the team do.
In turn, Syracuse, with the help of strength and conditioning coach Will Hicks, shared some morning stretches and warm-ups with the soldiers.
The team definitely seems to appreciate the bond that they’ve been forming with Fort Drum over the last few summers. Star safety Durell Eskridge posted a heartfelt message about the trip to Instagram.
Syracuse opens the season with Villanova on August 29.
