Georgia will open the 2020 season against Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff in Atlanta.
Last week, it was reported that Florida State and West Virginia will meet at the soon-to-be-open Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the event in 2020. Next year, there will be two Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games: Alabama vs. Florida State and Georgia Tech vs. Tennessee. That appears to be the case for 2020 as well, with Georgia-Virginia joining the Florida State-West Virginia match-up.

As with this fall, it is likely that one of the games will be played on Saturday, and the other on Monday after college football’s opening weekend.
The Bulldogs and Cavaliers have played 19 times in history, but not since the 2000 season, a 37-14 Georgia win in the Oahu Bowl. The two teams met in the 1995 and 1998 editions of the Peach Bowl, splitting those two match-ups. The last time the Bulldogs and Cavaliers met in the regular season was 1987. UGA owns a 9-7-3 edge in the all-time series.
