Coming into the season, most of the ACC hype centered on conference powerhouse Duke and newcomer Syracuse, but for the first time since Ralph Sampson protected the rim in Charlottesville, Virginia has clinched an ACC regular season championship.
The Cavaliers used hot shooting and their normal lockdown defense to take down No. 4 Syracuse 75-56, clinching the top overall seed in the ACC tournament in a few weeks.
After the game, UVA fans spilled onto the floor. They seemed a bit apprehensive at first, but ultimately there were plenty of Hoos on the court.
