No one would blame Isaiah Austin if he decided to stay out of the public eye for a while. Earlier today, news came out that Austin, the former Baylor star, has been diagnosed with rare Marfan syndrome, and that his basketball career cannot continue, incredibly heartbreaking news for the NBA hopeful just days before the draft.
Instead, Austin posted a message to Instagram, and it certainly seems like he is taking everything in stride.
Baylor coach Scott Drew, Austin’s Baylor teammates, and other members of the BU community have reached out with messages of support for Austin.
Very emotional night last night, but so proud, and inspired by Isaiah Austin and his family. Isaiah’s Toughness and Faith is remarkable!
