We’ve got another college football program altering its look just a bit ahead of the 2014 season. This time, it’s the Iowa State Cyclones who will be wearing new matte helmets for “select” games during the 2014 campaign. The school made the announcement Tuesday morning, electing to ditch the traditional glossy look for at least a game or two this fall.
Here’s a shot of the new helmet.

The new lids also have the new Big 12 logo on the back. We’re not sure exactly when the Cyclones will debut the new look, but you can bet that the players are excited about wearing something a little bit different.
