Kansas center Joel Embiid is one of the players in contension for the first overall pick in next month’s NBA Draft, and today he made a statement that may bolster his case to be picked in that spot.
During an interview on Sirius XM today, Embiid said that he has fully recovered from the back injury that kept him out of this year’s NCAA Tournament.
Joel Embiid tells Sirius XM radio that his back is “100 percent; no pain, nothing. I been working out, just to get back in the shape.”

Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker are phenomenal prospects, but it may be very difficult for a team to pass up on a potential superstar center like Embiid. The back injury was certainly the main question mark surrounding the seven-footer.
Meanwhile, Embiid is definitely ready for a number of teams to call his name…
