High-flying forward Zion Williamson has the attention of the country’s top basketball programs, and one seems to be climbing towards the top, at least in the eyes of the nation’s recruiting experts.
Williamson, the No. 2 player in the class of 2018 per 247Sports, is being pursued by schools like Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
Kansas is also involved, and landed its first 247 crystal ball prediction on Tuesday. Since, two others have come in for the Jayhawks, and Kansas, at 25-percent, now sits behind only Kentucky in total predictions.
247’s Andrew Slater, who registered the initial Kansas prediction, explained it.
“I think first of all, Bill Self has done a great job recruiting Zion and making that connection,” Slater said. “And obviously he has a strong friendship with Devon Dotson, who is himself strongly considering Kansas and may decide soon.”
Kentucky still holds the lead in the crystal ball, and I’d never bet against the Wildcats in any recruitment, but it is interesting that recruiting analysts seem to be trending towards Kansas in this one.
Williamson, who has gone viral regularly for his incredible dunks and highlight reels, will make a definite splash wherever he goes.
