Iowa State’s Melvin Ejim thought he was a hero tonight against Oklahoma State — the 16th-ranked Cyclones are trying to defeat the No. 19 Cowboys in Stillwater. Tied 75-75, ISU had a chance to go for the win on the final possession in regulation, and DeAndre Kane pulled up for a game-winning three. While the shot was off of the mark just a bit, Melvin Ejim was able to tip slam the ball back home Michael Qualls-style.
Unfortunately for Iowa State, the tip slam didn’t actually beat the buzzer — he was just a bit too late:
Overtime it is — this is still anyone’s ballgame.
