There weren’t many in the college football world who thought that Oklahoma had a real shot at defeating Alabama in Thursday night’s Sugar Bowl – well, not until halftime, at least. Sooners coach Bob Stoops, speaking today after returning to campus in Norman, had a little message for his team’s detractors.

Ouch. But to be fair, that’s how much of the nation feels after watching the Crimson Tide’s defense get shredded by Trevor Knight & Co.
Stoops made headlines earlier this year when he implied that the SEC is top-heavy, claiming that “half” of the teams in the league “haven’t done much.” His Sooners beat a squad that has, in fact, accomplished a lot.
