Earlier: While we still aren’t quite sure what happened between Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon and a student named Amelia Rae Molitor last Friday morning, we do now know that the Sooner football player has been suspended from team activities while the police continue to investigate the matter. According to numerous sources, the school is expected to officially announce the news Wednesday evening.
BREAKING: Just talked to Joe Mixon’s attorney. His belief Mixon is not being removed from #Sooners but won’t practice during investigation.

Molitor, the alleged victim, claims that Mixon punched her in the face following an argument at a local sandwich shop named Pickleman’s. The 911 call released this past weekend provided more details of what allegedly occurred, though the caller was unable to identify who was involved. Mixon’s lawyer released a statement that made the claim that his client “instinctually defended himself” in the situation.
It’s important to note that Mixon’s suspension from team activities does not imply that he is guilty of any crime – it may just mean that the school feels more comfortable holding him out of activities until the police come to a decision.
