When you’re the coach of a college basketball program that just notched its first NCAA Tournament victory, you get to celebrate however you want. North Dakota State Bison head coach Saul Phillips did just that Thursday night, running over to the NDSU section of fans to throw up the “Go Bison” hand gesture, which looks very similar to Texas’ “Hook ‘Em Horns” symbol.
Regardless, Longhorns fans no doubt approve of the job that Phillips and his players did in taking down the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Bison were led by junior guard Lawrence Alexander, who poured in 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting. Oklahoma became the second No. 5 seed (Cincinnati lost to Harvard earlier) to go down on the day.
