ESPN put out its first edition of the ESPN300 recruiting rankings for the football class of 2018 today. Here’s where each of Texas’ ESPN300 2018 commits ranks.
ESPN, which is one of the four major recruiting services, published its most notable recruiting list for the class of 2018 for the first time today. Here is how the rankings shook out for each of the each of the ranked players joining the Texas Longhorns next year. Two of Texas’ three players made the ESPN300:
Four-star ATH Justin Watkins (Ocala, FL)
Rank: No. 16
Four-star QB Casey Thompson (Moore, OK)
Rank: No. 208
With only three total recruits, two of which are in the ESPN300, Texas is lagging behind most big name programs. Currently, Texas’ 2018 recruiting class ranks No. 37 in the nation and No. 6 in the Big 12 per 247 Sports. With the hiring of head coach Tom Herman, these mediocre numbers will certainly rebound in the coming months, as there’s still plenty of uncommitted talent that would love to be part of a rebuild at Texas.
