The sophomore guard has been held out of action recently.
Texas sophomore point guard Andrew Jones has been diagnosed with leukemia, the program announced today.
Jones missed four games earlier in the season with a wrist injury but was plagued by fatigue and other symptoms after returning to the court. He played only nine minutes against Kansas on Dec. 29 and 11 against Iowa State on Jan. 1 before missing the Longhorns’ game against Baylor last Saturday.
According to Jones’ family, he has begun treatment.

Jones was averaging 13.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game this season for the 10-5 Longhorns.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jones and his family.
