For the first time since 1998, someone other than Mack Brown is the head football coach at the University of Texas. Ever since he became the school’s head coach on January 5, 2014, Charlie Strong has made changes across the Longhorns football program — whether it’s establishing strict rules and punishing players if they break them, or making players earn the Longhorn logo on their helmets. His regime has so far been a tough, hard-nosed one that looks to get Texas back to routinely winning double-digit games every season and put the team in a position to win a national title.
A new fan-made hype video was released yesterday, and it looks to get fans fired up for the new era in Austin. The video features game, practice and scrimmage highlights of the Longhorns, and ends with Strong saying, “there’s so much tradition here, there’s so much pride here, now let’s go get it back.”
Texas will play its first game under Strong on August 30 when the team plays host to North Texas.
