This year’s Big East Tournament may not have all the big names we’re accustomed to, but it has been crazier than ever so far. Coming off of last night’s DePaul upset of Georgetown, which knocked the Hoyas off of the bubble, Seton Hall kept the insanity going with a win over top-seeded Villanova.
The Pirates ran out to an early 22-11 lead against the Wildcats, but Villanova clawed back, and the two teams traded the lead multiple times down the stretch. With 3.7 left on the clock, guard Sterling Gibbs hit this clutch step-back jumper at the buzzer to knock off Villanova, and probably ended Nova’s hopes for a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance.
