Michigan State basketball uniforms are going WAY back with a new retro-style look for tonight’s game against Minnesota.
The Spartans host Minnesota at the Breslin Center tonight, but rather than ‘MSU,’ they’ll be playing as ‘MAC.’ Michigan State University was known as “Michigan Agricultural College” from 1909 to 1925. Tonight’s uniforms are a nod to that time period, complete with the old interlocking MAC logo.

A pretty cool little wrinkle for a mid-January Big Ten basketball game for sure.
Tonight’s game tipped off a little while ago. Michigan State, which beat Minnesota by one on the road earlier this year, leads the No. 24 Golden Gophers 13-9 mid-way through the first half. Star freshman Miles Bridges is off to a hot start for the Spartans, with six of the team’s 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting, along with three rebounds, an assist, and a block.
