Thursday night, Michigan State held a ceremony for the late Lacey Holsworth, an 8-year-old girl who befriended Spartans center Adreian Payne and the rest of his teammates over the past two years. Holsworth passed away from cancer earlier this month after a long, courageous battle with the disease.
The school put together a tribute video and had different members of the program speak – including coach Tom Izzo. But the most touching moment of all came from Payne, who performed a “silent dunk” in her honor with all of his teammates looking on under the basket.
The night capped off with a 43-minute tribute video from Lacey’s parents – Matt and Heather.
