Michigan State forward Adreian Payne has emerged into a key contributor for the Spartans. Not only is he a gifted basketball player, but he’s also a tremendous role model. He has struggled with a lung condition, the loss of his grandmother and a learning disability, yet he’s overcome all of these obstacles thanks to a little inspiration from a 7-year old girl with cancer.
In case you missed the most recent episode of The Journey on The Big Ten Network, the last few minutes covered a segment on Payne. This heart-wrenching story details his friendship with a cancer patient named Lacey and how she is Adreian’s motivation on the court. Lacey refers to Adreian as her “giant friend” and loves to watch him play basketball. You can watch the segment below:
This is one of my favorite Lil girls her name is Lacey, she give me strength when I don’t have it.. twitter.com/Adreian_Payne/…
