Last week, Michigan State held a public memorial for Lacey Holsworth, the eight-year-old who famously befriended Spartan star Adreian Payne before losing her courageous battle with cancer April 8. The service, held April 17 at the Breslin Center–Michigan State’s basketball arena–was attended by thousands. Spartan guard Travis Trice spoke, and Payne did a “silent dunk” to honor his fallen friend.
Today, a full video of the memorial was published. It’s more than an hour and a half long, but certainly worth watching.
Highlights of the video include:
The family put together a 43-minute video of Lacey’s life. Her mother, Heather, interviews Lacey at the 38-min mark. https://t.co/myjwqo4i0w

Earlier in the month, Michigan State students painted a rock on campus in Lacey’s honor. The rock was reportedly painted over today with a message of, “Congratulations seniors. Be a hero to someone.” Lacey’s legacy clearly will live on through the thousands of people she touched.
