Northwestern must be the most unlucky final-play-in-regulation team in the entire country. Two weeks ago, the Wildcats lost to Nebraska on a ridiculous 49-yard “hail mary” pass from Ron Kellogg III to Jordan Westerkamp. Today, Michigan’s Brendan Gibbons ran onto the field with under 10 seconds to go and somehow nailed a 44-yard field goal as time expired. The execution was flawless.
The Wolverines went on to win in triple overtime, 27-19.
