First, seven-year-old brain cancer patient Jack Hoffman scored a 60-yard touchdown for the Cornhuskers in their annual Spring Game. Now, he’s got his own trading card.
Upper Deck created a rookie card for Hoffman, seen below. The company had this to say about it:
“Jack is the type of inspirational athlete who absolutely deserves an Upper Deck rookie card,” said Chris Carlin, Upper Deck’s sports marketing manager, via CBS Sports. “Upper Deck does not want to risk Jack’s amateur status with the NCAA so the card we created will not be part of a mainstream trading card release.”
Here’s a shot of the card, which you can bet Hoffman will be showing off to all of his friends for quite some time.
If this isn’t the definition of awesome, I don’t know what is.
