Former Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde was an absolute machine this past season for Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes, and he’s reminding everyone of it ahead of the NFL Combine. Hyde told reporters Friday afternoon that he “should be regarded as the best running back in the draft” before telling them what he predicts he’ll post tomorrow in the 40-yard dash.

Most draft experts agree that no running backs will be chosen in the first round, but that a number could go early in the second round. Hyde is competing with Auburn’s Tre Mason, Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey, LSU’s Jeremy Hill and Washington’s Bishop Sankey to be the first halfback chosen overall. He’s certainly not lacking confidence – perhaps it’ll work in his favor.
