The rookie is being thrown into the fire right away.
Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson announced what was expected minutes ago: the team is rolling with rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer as its starter.
Kizer, a second-round pick out of Notre Dame, beat out Brock Osweiler and Cody Kessler for the gig.
In three preseason games, Kizer moved up the depth chart from third-string to backup to starter.

This decision by the Browns makes sense. Might as well throw the kid out there and see what he has from day one.
Cleveland opens its season on Sunday, Sept. 10 vs. Pittsburgh.
