The Dallas Cowboys took a running back with a top 20 first round pick in the NFL Draft Thursday night for the first time since 1990.
Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott is headed to Texas, as the Cowboys snagged him with the No. 4 overall selection.
That running back taken in 1990? Emmitt Smith, who went on to win three Super Bowls with the Cowboys, become the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and is now in the Hall of Fame.
Smith just welcomed Elliott to Dallas on Twitter.

We can’t wait to see what Elliott does behind that Dallas offensive line.
